Acceptable Use Policy

Plan sets usually belong to an architect, an engineer or a client, not the contractor bidding the work. Before uploading, make sure your arrangement with whoever owns them permits sending them to a third-party service for processing.

Most bid documents are fine. Drawings marked confidential, under a non-disclosure agreement, or for a secure facility may not be. If you are unsure, ask them before uploading — not us afterwards.

Do not upload documents you obtained without permission.

You are free to use takeoffs and estimates produced here in your bids and proposals. That is what the product is for.

What you must not do is describe the output as a certified, sealed or independently verified quantity survey, or imply that we stand behind the numbers. We do not. A professional reviewed them — that professional is you.

If your jurisdiction requires a licensed quantity surveyor or engineer to seal a document, this tool does not satisfy that requirement, and using it to suggest otherwise is a breach of this policy as well as, most likely, of your licence.

Use it for your own estimating, and for work you are performing or bidding. Do not resell access, run a takeoff bureau on someone else’s behalf through a single account, or present the product as your own software.

If you want to use it across several companies you own, get in touch — that is a conversation, not a violation.

No attempts to break into other customers’ data, no probing for vulnerabilities without asking us first, no automated scraping, no deliberately overloading the system, and no uploading malicious files.

If you find a security flaw, tell us at the contact form. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine issue in good faith and gives us a reasonable chance to fix it.

The ordinary list applies: nothing illegal, nothing fraudulent, nothing that infringes someone else’s rights, and nothing designed to deceive a client or a public authority.

Team members get their own logins — that is what the seats on your plan are for. Sharing one login between several people destroys the record of who reviewed and approved each number, which is the thing that makes an estimate defensible when someone questions it later.

In most cases we will contact you, explain the problem, and give you a chance to put it right.

Where the breach is serious — an attack on the service, uploading documents you have no right to, or anything unlawful — we may suspend the account immediately and without notice.

Your data is handled the same way as any closed account: a 30-day recovery window, then permanent deletion. Suspension does not forfeit your right to export your work.
